Upper Room Student Ministry

Preparing students for a lifetime of faithful devotion to Christ.

Student Ministry Philosophy

The name “Upper Room Student Ministry” comes out of Acts 1. Jesus instructed the disciples to stay in Jerusalem until they received the power of the Holy Spirit. During this time, they stayed in the upper room. This was a time of preparation where they spent time meditating on the teachings of Scripture and “devoting themselves to prayer” before they were sent out into the world with the message of the gospel (Acts 1:13-14).

In many ways, the time of middle school and high school is a similar time of preparation before going out into the world, whether in college or the workplace. We want to steward this time of preparation and help equip our students to be able to continue follow Jesus and grow in their walks with Him, so they can take the gospel into the world.

Sunday Evening Meetings

We meet on the first and third Sundays of each month from 5:30pm-7:00pm.

During our meetings, we desire to teach our students God’s word, and encourage them to seek Jesus daily and grow in their love for Him. We want prayer to be an essential aspect of our gatherings, so we intend to have extended times of prayer where students are encouraged to participate in praying. We also seek to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere where students can feel comfortable bringing friends and have fun participating in various games and activities.
