Luke 6:46-49

Luke 6:46–49 emphasizes the eternal importance of building our lives on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ by not only hearing His words but also actively obeying them. Jesus uses a parable of two houses to show us that while all people face trials and hardships, only those rooted in obedience to Christ will stand firm when life’s storms come. Jesus warns that merely hearing His teaching without obedience leads to a fragile foundation that will ultimately collapse. Therefore, we must come to Christ, deeply engage with His Word, and faithfully live it out as evidence of genuine faith. In the end, a life built on Christ will endure both present trials and the final judgment.

  1. Those who hear Jesus’ words and do them stand firm and endure. (46-48)
  2. Those who hear Jesus’ words and do not do them fall and are eternally ruined (49)
